Wausau Timbers

The Wausau Timbers were a minor league baseball team.
The team began as the Wausau Mets in 1978, but left the affiliation with the New York Mets and went co-op. The 1979 team got players from mainly the Cleveland Indians and Texas Rangers, while the 1980 team had mainly Seattle Mariners farmhands with help from the Cleveland Indians and other teams.
Wausau made the playoffs the same number of times in 2 years as a co-op team (1), as they did in 14 years affiliated with the Mets, Mariners, and Orioles.
After the 1990 season, the Wausau Timbers moved to Illinois and became the Kane County Cougars.
The team was sold for the bargain price of $1. The only stipulation was moving the team.
